Why Organic?
earths-best-ingredientsChoosing organic is choosing to live a healthier life. Organic foods are produced without the use of potentially harmful chemicals and synthetic pesticides or growth hormones. This is even more important when we consider infants. For four to six months following birth, infants receive most of their nutrition from breast milk or infant formula. It is so important that these formulas contain the safest ingredients.

If ingested, potential toxic chemicals or heavy metals can lead to compromised immune system development. Likewise, young infants consume disproportionately high levels of fruits and vegetables when compared to adults. This increases their risk of exposure to potential contaminants found among non-organic products. Finally, Earth's Best products do not contain genetically engineered ingredients (GEIs), made by inserting genes from one plant into a strain of another to produce more crops or control pests.

Why organic? It is better for you, your child and the environment they will grow up in.
simple and pure

Day 16 of 365

Today Minie is 7 months old, which also happens to be Cinco de Mayo, which also happens to be the very last day I will be 25 years old since my birthday is tomorrow. She's getting older, the holiday is getting older, I'm getting older, time is cruel.

Minie loves:
chewing on water bottles, making clicking noises with her tongue, tilting her head to look at things sideways, kicking & splashing in the tub & playing with the bubbles, sticking out her tongue, when Mama does The Charleston and sings "Hello my baby! Hello my Darlin!"

Minie doesn't love:
when she can't reach things she wants to chew on, being tired, Papa's work schedule.

Minie's stats:

For the scavenger hunt ~ Number 6 ~ Food

Nothing fancy. Just SOOC

I have a love / hate relationship with food.

I love, love, love eating food, but I hate the things it does to my body. I would be ok if i could stop at just 1 biscuit, or 2 chocolates, or even 3 slices of hot buttery toast. But no. I have a terrible self-destruct button that triggers me to binge, and when I binge I can put away vast quantities of junk.

I first 'discovered' Slimming World about 17 years ago, when I was at College. I had already done Rosemary Conley, Weight Watchers, The Cabbage Soup diet, the Tuc biscuit/cottage cheese and beetroot diet, the milk and apples diet...........and many others besides. SW seemed to offer a great solution - eat as much as you like of certain foods, but cut out the crap! It worked, for a bit. And then I put on more than I lost and the cycle began again.

I think I must have been to about 8 different classes in my local area. I used to lose a bit, put a bit (more) on.........etc etc etc.

And then I had children. I was pregnant! I could eat for two! I wasn't on a diet any more!

And that is how, in May 2008, I reached the grand weight of 18 stone 4lbs. Edward was 6 months old, so I had no excuses that I was carrying a bit of baby weight. I was carrying a LOT of extra weight and it needed to be sorted.

I was delighted, the week before Christmas 2009 to weigh in at 12 stone 2lbs :-)

It's been tough. Bloody hard actually. I have had many a day where I have wanted to jack it all in and be fat again. I have also had my fair share of binges. The demons are still there, although I am learning to manage them rather than fight against them. I had a Very Bad Christmas, and will probably take a while to lsoe the 10lbs I put on in a week, but for now, I can rejoice in my Six Stone Sticker :-)

But the festive mood sours when a well-known Glokkmann-bashing blogger is found dead . . . and the congresswoman herself meets a gruesome fate.
To keep the heat off her best friend's fiance—an ex-con reporter—Mira wades through the candidates' dirty laundry, their unsavory secrets, and some murderous mudslinging to expose the killer.
